250 KV Electron Gun

Abstract

Two high-voltage, high-power Pierce-type electron guns were designed and developed for use at the NRL high-power ubitron laboratory. The design of the high-voltage and vacuum housings of the guns incorporates design features utilized in the XK-5 klystron gun. Detail design data and beam trajectories are presented. Beam analyzer and high voltage tests are discussed. Assembly and detail drawings are included.
