Field Investigation of New Haven Harbor, Connecticut.

Abstract

Tidal elevations, current speeds and directions, salinities, suspended sediment concentrations, and bed sediment characteristics were measured in New Haven Harbor in June 1987. The prototype data were collected as part of a study to evaluate the effects of channel deepening on circulation patterns. The results of analysis of the hydrodynamic and salinity data were used for numerical model verification. This report describes the equipment and procedures used in the data acquisition and presents tables, plots, and summaries of all the data collected. (FR)
