Abstract

This document outlines the expected postattack environment firefighters will face during wartime operations. It defines doctrine and procedures to guide decision makers with principles for fire protection to support the launch, recovery, and sustained combat air operations. The report discusses the elements that constitute the fire protection system and its mission during war. The report outlines the necessary planning, training, and system improvements required for firefighters to effectively conduct postattack operations that will have a major and lasting impact on the generation of air combat sorties. The document discusses the force structure, available vehicles, and spares for wartime operations. The report also outlines survival and recovery procedures for fire protection in the preattack, postattack, and reattack phases.
