Development of a Personnel Database System for Watch Scheduling on Hellenic Navy Ships

Abstract

This thesis represents the development of a database system for personnel management and watch scheduling on the Hellenic Navy ships. DBase III plus is used as a Database Management System to implement the main task, duties assignment in the administration office of a war ship. The implementation is a collection of algorithms that provide intelligent decision support to users of the system about the assignment duties. It is designed to run on an IBM PC XT- TURBO microcomputer. The system is developed to support all the administrative tasks and activities and to provide real time decision information on the crew allocations.
