Corrosion-Control (CC) Program: SIMA (Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activities) San Francisco

Abstract

The current status of the SIMA San Francisco Corrosion-Control (CC) Shop is reported, with recommendations regarding industrial plant equipment, shop layout, manning, consumables, training requirements, and CC work package implementation and documentation. Specific recommendations are made regarding metallizing systems, electrostatic powder-spray systems, powder-spray booth, curing oven. Vapor degreaser, caustic dip tank, and quality-assurance equipment. A preliminary list of consumables recommended for the CC shop as well as process instructions for wire-sprayed aluminum and powder coatings are provided.
