Thermomechanical Analysis with Phase Transformations: A Unified Approach

Abstract

The technical content of this final report describes numerical methodology for analyzing a broad class of materials processing problems. The method emphasizes a close coupling of heat transfer, plastic deformation, and phase transformation. Implementation of the theoretical developments into a finite element calculation is discussed. Coupled analysis, Finite element method, Heat transfer, Materials processing, Plasticity, Thermomechanical analysis, Viscoplasticity, Phase transformations.
