Comprehensive Noise Survey in Depot Armament Repair, Building 509, Hill AFB, Utah

Abstract

Reverberation measurements were made in several rooms of the newly constructed Depot Armament Repair building a Hill AFB UT. An evaluation of the benefits of increasing each room's absorption was then made by determining the room constant for each room. Findings indicated additional acoustic absorption in several of the rooms would effectively reduce the amount of reverberent energy present. Recommendations are also provided for control of specific noise sources in each room.
