Mutagenic Potential of 2-(E)-Hydroxyiminomethyl-1-methoxymethyl-3- methylimidazolium Chloride in the Ames Salmonella/Mammalian Microsome Mutagenicity Test

Abstract

The mutagenic potential of 2-(E) -hydroxyiminomethyl-1- methoxymethyl -3-methylimidazolium chloride was assessed by using the Ames Salmonella/ Mammalian Microsome Mutagenicity Test. Tester strains TA98, T100, TA1535, TA1537, and TA1538 were exposed to doses ranging from 5.0 mg/plate to 0.0016 mg/ plate. The test compound was not mutagenic under conditions of this test.
