Medical Activities and Medical Communications during an Amphibious Assault and Subsequent Operations Ashore
Abstract
Medical activities and medical communications play a vital part in support of Marine Corps amphibious operations and subsequent operations ashore. This report focuses on these medical activities and medical communications. Medical activities is the subject of the first half of this report, and medical communications is the subject of the second half of this report. Prior to this report, a detailed and thorough research analysis of Marine Corps operations was conducted that led to the generation of a future combat scenario and its associated conclusions. It was clear that many improvements needed to be made to ensure that we survive and win any encounters with our projected opponents. These needed improvements in medical activities and medical communications come at the same time as the occurrence of advances in technology that are available to realize these needed improvements. Now is the time to apply this new technology to help make the medical support as effective and efficient as possible from the beginning to the end of any MAGTF operations. Keywords: Combat medical services; Radio communications; Patients; Medical; Command control and communications.
