Air Force Logistics Command DCS/Materiel Management 1988-9 Master Plan

Abstract

Our job in the Analysis and Information Management Systems Division (MMMA) is to develop better ways to budget, forecast, compute and execute Air Force recoverable and consumable item requirements. We try to do this two ways. First, we study and propose fixes to materiel management problems. Secondly, we develop microcomputer software to exploit existing computer resources and identify the need for additional computing capability. The purpose of this master plan is to briefly outline which problems we should address and how we plan to address them. We have documented our research efforts to tell how we intend to meet our objectives. This plan lists specific projects with proposed completion dates for active projects. We also list our pending projects. Keywords: Peacetime commodities, War Readiness Spares List (WRSK), Base Level Self Sufficiency Spares (BLSS), Productivity-microcomputer applications, Repair process expert systems/artificial intelligence, Financial management.
