Proceedings of a Workshop on Composite Material Response: Constitutive Relations and Damage Mechanisms Held in Glasgow, United Kingdom on July 30-31, 1987

Abstract

Demand for advances in the theoretical and experimental understanding of high performance materials has provided the impetus to organize this Workshop on 'Composite Material Response: Constitutive Relations and Damage Mechanisms'. It provided an opportunity for evaluating the current as well as future needs in advanced materials science and technology. Topics included: Microstructure and Damage Dependence of Advanced Composite Material Behavior, Failure Initiation in Composites from Perfectly or Partially Bonded Rigid Inclusions, Thermomechanical Behaviour of Composites, Fracture Tests for Mixed Mode Failure of Composites Laminates, Constitutive Relations for Transversely Isotropic Materials, Transverse Matrix Cracking in Composite Laminates, Transferability of Small Specimen Data to Full-Size Structural Components.
