The proposal which The Wichita State University submitted to the Army Research Office in April, 1986, and which resulted in the contract for which this document is the final report stated, ...At the end of the two-year development program, an advanced research center will be in place, involved in continuing research of high interest to government and industry, and providing training at the PhD-level students for careers in aviation-related technical disciplines. This objective has been met. A new 74,000 sq. ft. building is currently under construction to house the activities of the Institute for Aviation Research, with completion scheduled for late 1989.
