Novel Methods of Acceleration

Abstract

A full cusp diode geometry and fast puff valve system have been developed for the proton linac experiment. After passing through the first gap section, a transport efficiency of 99% has been achieved. Microwave input mode stability has been tested on a rectangular cross-section undulating guide accelerator cavity. Switching to a circular cross-section would appear to have certain advantages. Keywords: Plasma accelerators; Linear accelerators.
