HTLV-III: Intra-BBB IgG Synthesis and Hybridization in CSF Cells

Abstract

Data has been developed indicating that antibodies specific for the AIDS virus are being synthesized within the CNS in response to the infection. About half of the AIDS and ARC patients show this. Abnormal serum bands in the cerebral-spinal fluid of some asymptomatic infected patients has also been found. Investigation of the neurologic aspects of cytomegalovirus retinitis in AIDS patients is being done in collaboration with others. Keywords: Blood brain barrier; Central nervous system; Virology.
