The NEPRF (Naval Environmental Prediction Research Facility) Sunglint Pattern Calculation and Display System

Abstract

The sunglint intensity model used at NEPRF (Naval Environmental Prediction Research Facility) is described. A detailed derivation of all equations used in the model is given, and graphic depictions are provided. NEPRF's system written on the Hewlett-Packard 9020 with Global Imaging operating system also is presented. Examples of sunglint patterns are shown. The computer code and operating instructions are provided as appendices.
