Preparation, Characterization and Performance of MoS3 as an Active Cathode Material

Abstract

We report on a program of the preparation, characterization and performance of amorphous MoS3 (a-MoS3) as an active cathode material. We have, for the first time, prepared thin films (approx. 1 micro of a-MoS3). This was accomplished by electrodeposition from both aqueous and non-aqueous solutions of (NH4)2MoS4 (ATTM) at room temperature. These thin films were studied by several experimental methods including x rays, Raman scattering, optical transmission and electrolyte electroreflectance. Keywords: Cathode materials, Molybendum trisulfide.
