Capacity of the Poisson Channel with Time-Varying Noise Intensity and Jamming

Abstract

The information capacity of the Poisson channel with jamming and nonrandom time varying noise intensity is obtained for a time-varying peak constraint on the encoder intensity. The optimal jamming signal is determine. Feedback is shown not to increase the channel capacity for the case of nonrandom noise intensity. Poisson channels with thinning are introduced.
