Development of a Parachute for a Submarine Launched Pyrotechnic Signal

Abstract

This report outlines the development of a parachute required to control the decent of a pyrotechnic flare. The parachute was developed to support a pyrotechnic flare candle with an initial mass of 1 kg for a period which enables an observer to acquire and identify it at a distance of 15 nautical miles (27 kilometers).
