Improving the Corrosion Resistance of Small Arms

Abstract

An overview of recent corrosion prevention and control (CPC) activities within the Army and some long term and short term actions taken to improve the corrosion resistance of small arms weapons are contained in this report. Also included is a summary of the specific efforts to determine the extent of reported corrosion problems with small arms, and actions to reduce corrosion in both current and future weapons.
