A Modified Least Squares Estimator for Gas Turbine Identification

Abstract

A simple estimator is proposed for use in extracting the spool dynamic characteristics of a gas turbine engine. It provides realistic estimates even when the input/output signals are contaminated by high levels of measurement noise. As a result, it has the potential to form the basis of a useful engine health monitoring tool. Keywords: Parameter estimation; Transient response; Jet engines; Fault diagnosis; Australia.
