Computations of Optimal Controls and Designs for Distributed Systems in Optics and Elasticity
Abstract
The boundary element methods are studied for a variety of partial differential equations in optics and elasticity, including the Helmholtz equation on an exterior domain, the eigenvalue problem for the Laplacian, the elastostatic Timoshenko plate and 3-dimensional elastostatic solid mechanics. Numerical software has been accumulated and computer graphics has been successfully developed.
