Development of Army Job Knowledge Tests for Three Air Force Specialties

Abstract

This research and development (R&D) effort was performed under the Joint-Service Job Performance Measurement Project in conjunction with the development of Walk-Through Performance Tests. This report documents the development and pre-test of task-based multiple-choice job knowledge tests for three Air Force specialties, using methodologies developed by the Army. This R&D was initiated to determine whether measurement technology developed in one Service could be effectively transferred to another Service. The resulting tests and data suggest a strong similarity to those developed by the Army. A thorough review of data collected during large-scale data collection will provide a basis for making more definitive observations concerning the accomplishments of the present research effort. Keywords: Job knowledge test, Multiple-choice test, Performance measurement, Technology transfer.
