Abstract

The Naval Medical Research Institute is the Navy's largest biomedical research facility. The institute's mission is to conduct basic and applied research aimed at the enhancement and protection of the health, safety, and efficiency of naval personnel. Ongoing studies are currently focused in the areas of casualty care, environmental medicine, infectious diseases, hyperbaric medicine, and transplantation research.
