On Estimating the Dependence Between Two Point Processes

Abstract

To assess the dependence structure in a stationary bivariate point process the second-order distribution (Ripley 1976, 1977) can be very useful. It is proven that the natural estimates of this distribution, based on a certain realization are asymptotically normal, and the author presents a method for constructing approximate confidence intervals for this distribution. Keywords: Statistic methods, Ripley's K-function, Cross-intensity function.
