Abstract

The United States Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM) is organized with an Office of the Commander/Scientific Technical Director, seven Research Divisions and a Research Support Division consisting of five functional Branches. This report conducts research on the effects of temperature, altitude, work and nutrition on the health and performance of the individual soldier and combat crews operating Army systems. Assesses decrements to soldier or combat crew performance caused by the synergy of environmental extremes protective measures used in NBC sustained operations.
