Abstract

This project deals with the evaluation, development and implementation of a system in the printed wiring assembly area that will provide for the electronic distribution of Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) product/process information to the shop floor through a network of graphics terminals. The system is expected to provide savings in increased labor productivity, reduction in group leader and setup labor, and reduced production engineering effort to create process information,. In addition, the project should reduce the throughput time and human error problems by providing better graphic instructions in a more controlled real-time environment.
