Gauge: Its Philosophy and Design

Abstract

Gauge is a workbench for gaining understanding of the performance of large parallel logic programs. A Gauge user is provided with a variety of interactive tools for analyzing the execution of programs. This report describes the philosophy, design, and implementation of Gauge and its use in analyzing parallel systems. Keywords: Shared memory multiprocessors.
