The Catalytic Hydrolysis of p-Nitrophenyldiphenyl Phosphate in a CTAB (Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide) Microemulsion
Abstract
The iodosobenzoate catalysis of the hydrolysis of p- nitrophenyldiphenyl phosphate in an oil-in-water microemulsion stabilized by cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and 1-butanol has been examined. In addition, we have investigated this hydrolysis in water and in cetyltrimethylammonium chloride micellar solutions. The second-order rate constants for the catalytic and non-catalytic pathways have been determined. Direct tests demonstrate that iodosobenzoate is a turnover catalyst.
