Abstract

The Software Engineering Process Program focuses on improving the process of software development. Projects within the program are assessing the actual practice of software engineering in the defense community, training organizations to gain management control over their software development processes, and establishing a network of process groups to improve their software capability. The Software Process Assessment Project assist software organizations in launching effective process improvement programs, characterizes and reports on the software engineering capabilities of defense contractors, and defines priority needs for software process improvement in the defense community.
