A Methodology to Measure the Cost of a Single Outpatient Visit in the Family Practice Clinic

Abstract

This study developed a method for measurement of the cost of a single patient visit in the Family Practice Clinic. Actual cost data were collected for selected clinic visits. The author concluded that more reasonable and accurate cost data can be obtained with computation of actual cost data than can be obtained from the averaging methods of the Uniform Chart of Accounts data base.
