Critical Requirements for Army War College Faculty Instructors

Abstract

The Army War College continues to perform a significant mission to our nation and to our Army as it provides education and development for the senior leadership of the future. A recent assessment of the college has indicated that a top-quality faculty is considered critical for the success of the institution. This project is focused on the Army War College faculty with an orientation on identifying key or critical behavioral job requirements. A pilot study has been conducted involving 54 students who provided identification of faculty behaviors which the students perceived to be important to the Faculty Instructor's performance. From the behaviors identified by the students, a categorized listing of descriptive statements called critical requirements is presented. Leadership training, Army training, Education.
