Issue Priority Grouping Three Shipment Consolidation Effectiveness Model

Abstract

Defense Logistics Agency's Directorate of Supply Operations, Transportation Division (DLA-OT) requested that DLA Operations Research and Economic Analysis Office (DLA-LO) analyze the effectiveness of our depots in processing Issue Priority Grouping (IPG) III Material Release Orders (MROs). Part I (Depot Effectiveness IPG III Processing) of this analysis was completed in July 1987 and analyzed the effectiveness of DLA's depots in processing IPG III MROs and the economic viability of DLA's 98 percent on-time goal for this priority. Part II consisted of developing a model to measure depot IPG III shipment consolidation effectiveness. Keywords: Computerized simulation; Logistics; Military supplies; Supply depots.
