Efficient Facets and Rates of Change: Geometry and Analysis of Some Pareto-Efficient Empirical Production Possibility Sets
Abstract
Efficient Facets for the additive model of DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) are obtained by a new series of the linear programming models which are used to show how rates of change of outputs with respect to inputs, both analytically and computationally, may be determined along a given efficient facet. The differences between single and multiple output cases are determined and exemplified via a cone direction development. Keywords: Data envelopment analysis, Efficient facet tradeoffs; Production efficiency; and tradeoff geometry.
