Defense Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR). Volume 4. Defense Agencies Abstracts of Phase 1 Awards from FY 1988 SBIR Solicitation

Abstract

On September 1, 1988 Secretary of Defense Frank C. Carlucci announced the selection of small business firms proposals under Phase I of the Fiscal Year (FY) 1988 Department of Defense (DoD) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program to be funded upon successful completion of contract negotiations. The selection of proposals for funding was made from proposals received by the Military Departments, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Defense Nuclear Agency (DNA), and the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization (SDIO) in response to the FY 1988 solicitation distributed on October 1, 1987 with a closing date of January 8, 1988. In order to make information available on the technical content of the Phase I projects supported by the Department of Defense SBIR Program, this report presents, in four volumes, the abstracts of those proposals which have resulted in contract awards. This is Volume IV which contains abstracts and contacts for the 218 Phase I projects funded by the three participating Defense Agencies (61 DARPA projects, 19 DNA projects and 138 SDIO projects).
