Speckle Reduction in Synthetic Aperture Radar Images

Abstract

This survey reviews noise reduction techniques of particular relevance to the multiplicative speckle noise associated with synthetic aperture radar images. Where appropriate, mention is made of the Generalized Synthetic Aperture Radar (GSAR) software package developed by MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates for the processing of raw SAR data in a standard format into image data.
