Field Repair of Composite Materials in Army Service: Planning for the Future

Abstract

A discussion of fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composite repair technology as it relates to Army requirements is presented. The organizational of composite field repair research and development efforts within the Department of Defense (DOD) is reviewed. Recommendations are made for the establishment of a centralized Army composite field repair research and developement effort. Ongoing composite field repair programs in DOD are listed in the Appendix.
