Lifetime of Singlet Oxygen in Aqueous Hydrogen Peroxide (BHP)

Abstract

Singlet delta oxygen lifetime in deuterated basic hydrogen peroxide was measured. The contributing bimolecular rate constants were measured as a function of temperature. The measured lifetime of 20 microseconds compared favorably to the lifetime of 24 microseconds arrived at by using contributing bimolecular rates. Keywords: Singlet delta oxygen; Lifetime; Quenching rates; Deuterated basic hydrogen peroxide; Temperature; Bimolecular rate constants.
