GTS Callaghan/C-141 VLF/LF Data 1984 - 1986

Abstract

This report discusses VLF/LF signal data collected on: (1) the GTS callaghan, a Military Sealift Command (MCS) cargo ship and (2) Military Airlift Command (MAC) C-141 aircraft. It describes the VLF/LF transmitters monitored, the navigational tracks used by the two types of collection platforms, the data acquisition systems, calibration procedures and the resulting normalized signal data. Near field radiated power measurements, measured noise levels, and the overall accuracy of the VLF/LF signal data collected are also discussed.
