An Open-Loop Transient Thermodynamic Model of the Couguar Turbojet

Abstract

An open-loop, transient, thermodynamic model of the single-spool Couguar turbojet has been developed for use in both fault diagnosis and engine control research work. The model is based on TURBOTRANS, a generic engine modelling computer program, and it has been calibrated against test cell measurements of the steady-state running line. The model provided good predictions of a series of accelerations and decelerations over the operating range of the turbojet. Estimates of the steady-states gains and time constants, across the speed range of the engine, are also presented. Turbojet engines, Australia.
