Isolating a Cell Maximally Secreting Acetylcholinesterase

Abstract

Progress in developing cell sorting techniques which are capable of selecting cells which secrete certain proteins of interest, such as acetylcholinesterase, has been made. Model systems using hybridoma cells have indicated that the fluorescence-activated cell sorter (FACS) may be used to accomplish this goal. Specifically, antibody-secreting cells were enriched using this technique from a larger population of non-secreting cells.
