Isolating a Cell Maximally Secreting Acetylcholinesterase

Abstract

Progress has been made in developing cell-sorting techniques for selecting cells which secrete certain proteins of interest such as acetylcholineserase. Model systems using hybridoma cells have indicated that the fluorescene activated cell sorter (FACS) may be used to accomplish this goal. Specifically, antibody-secreting cells were enriched using this technique from a larger population of non-secreting cells.
