Abstract

Antiprotons are particles of antimatter which release highly penetrating radiation when they are stopped in normal matter. According to presentations at the Antiproton Technology Workshop this radiation can be used, in very small quantities, to image objects and determine their composition and density. In larger amounts, the radiation could be used to kill cancer tumors or produce highly localized heating and shock waves.
