On Universal Elements, and Conversion Procedures to and from Position and Velocity

Abstract

An element set is advocated that is familiar (in traditional terms), and yet applicable to all types of orbit without loss of accuracy. It is not free of singularity, but this is not a serious deficiency. Keywords: Great Britain; Astrodynamics; Celestial mechanics; Orbits; Orbital elements.
