Monitoring of Test Sections Designed to Reduce Reflection Cracking

Abstract

Several pavement test section incorporating designs intended to retard the development of reflective cracking in pavement overlays were monitored and performance evaluations were made. Performance assessments involved test pavements at Kirtland AFB, Williams AFB, Coolidge Municipal Airport, and Peterson AFB. The specifications for stress-absorbing membrane interlays (SAMIs) are also reviewed and recommendations for future use are provided. Keywords: Interlayers, Fabrics, Asphalt-rubber.
