Navy Shipboard JTIDS (Joint Tactical Information Distribution System) Terminal Navigation Systems TECHEVAL/OPEVAL Integration

Abstract

The Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS) Class 2 terminal was designed for the U.S. Air Force. By government direction it has become the baseline for the terminals being developed for use by naval and other forces. This development activity includes the TECHEVAL/OPEVAL platform integration of the following systems with the Navy shipboard JTIDS terminal: shipboard navigation data sensor systems, navigation aspects of the JTIDS message communication system, and the earth models selected as the basis for the navigation calculations. The status of this integration process is surveyed in this report. The critical issues to be resolved are described, their resolution status is given, the remaining action items are listed, and an estimated resolution time is given.
