Dynamic Architecture Computer

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis was to design a computer that could process a large variety of calculations with a minimum of hardware. This constraint requires a computer that can change its structure to match the demands of the problem currently being calculated. Computer image generation was selected as an example problem. The processing requirements of real-time computer image generation require calculation of very large real numbers as well as very small logical variables. The results demonstrate that, in a best case analysis, a dynamic architecture computer can demonstrate an improvement in processing speed over conventional single instruction single data computers.
