A Program Office Guide to Technology Transfer

Abstract

The critical component of a successful dual source program is a comprehensive technology transfer effort. Technology transfer encompasses all Program Office, initial source, and second source activities required to qualify a second production source. This guide has been prepared by the Defense Systems Management College to assist Program Offices in planning and executing technology transfer. Key elements of the guide include the following: Program objectives; Technical requirements; Timing of technology transfer; Second source qualification; Demonstration milestones; and Implementation alternatives.
