Environmental Impacts of Oil and Hazardous Material Spills with Emphasis on Winter Conditions in the Upper Great Lakes Region.

Abstract

The purpose of this report is to summarize available literature on the effects of oil and related hazardous materials on freshwater organisms, concentrating on winter (ice) conditions. A comprehensive review of various other hazardous materials was not the purpose of this report since toxicological information on a myriad of substances is available from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and from the manufacturers.
