Ion-Molecule Reactions Involving Atmospheric Cluster Ions.

Abstract

During the one-year period of this grant work was conducted on five topics; 1) A Unified Treatment of Proton Transfer and Hydrogen Exchange; 2) The synthesis of H3O (-); 3) Deuterium-Labelling Studies of the reactions MH(+) M (M = H2O, NH3 and CH4) in the temperature range 80-500 K; 4) Calculation of reaction ergicities for isotopic exchange reactions from estimated zero-point energies; and 5) The isotope exchange reactions H(+) + D2 = HD + D(+) and D(+) + H2 = HD + H(+) in the temperature range 200-300 K.
