R/M/T (Reliability, Maintainability, and Testability) Design for Fault Tolerance, Technical Manager's Design Implementation Guide
Abstract
Fault tolerance has come into almost universal use in modern day systems of all types. This report contains design guidance and general information for Air Force and contractor technical managers and system integrators with respect to the nature and form of Reliability/Maintainability/ Testability (R/M/T) considerations as they apply to fault tolerant systems. This technical managers design implementation guide contains instructions for accomplishing the R/M/T programmatic tasks of MIL-STDS 785, 470 & 2165 for fault tolerant systems development. Important fault tolerance design options and tradeoff analysis methods are discussed to aid the technical manager or system integrator in understanding and managing the entire fault tolerant system design process. This report is Volume II of II. Volume I is an R/M/T Design for Fault Tolerance, Program Manager's Guide. Reliability; Maintainability; Testability; Fault tolerance; Design guidance. (jes)
